Mercedes-AMG Petronas Claims Double Podium at Styrian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas secured a double podium for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, finishing second and third at the Styrian Grand Prix on Sunday. Hamilton drove a solid race to take home P2 in Austria, extracting the maximum performance from the W12. Bottas, who jumped Sergio Perez in the opening round of pit stops to move up to P3, was able to hold off Perez for the final podium spot on aging hard tires.

Hamilton (138 points) trails Max Verstappen (156 points) by 18 points in the Drivers’ Championship, with Bottas (74) in P5. Red Bull (252 points) lead the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team (212 points) by 40 points in the Constructors’ Championship.

F1 returns to the Red Bull Ring this weekend for the Austrian Grand Prix, the second of two back-to-back races at the track. Live coverage on ESPN begins at 9 a.m. ET Sunday, July 4.
