Mercedes-Benz Supports Young Dream-Chasers

Every teenager has a dream, a vision for what their future can be. We are proud to work with Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber to provide students with the opportunities to make those dreams a reality.

Last month, we presented four diligent Fulton County high school students each with $2,500 scholarships at the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber luncheon. The scholarships we sponsored are part of the Donna Adams Mahaffey Scholarship Fund, named in honor of a longtime Georgia public servant and education advocate.

We commend these four students on their hard work in high school, and we’re privileged to play a role in helping them chase their dreams as they soon begin their collegiate careers. Click on this video to hear directly from Marcus, Denisse, Praise and Jennifer on how the scholarship will help them write their next chapter. You can also learn more about each recipient below:

Marcus Mor Khoule

A graduate of North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs, Ga., Marcus will attend Georgia State University in the fall. There, he intends on pursuing his dream of earning a Bachelor of Finance to launch a finance career. He plans to put his scholarship funds towards tuition costs.

Denisse Avila Alejandro

Denisse, a graduate of Riverwood International Charter School in Sandy Springs, Ga., says earning a scholarship eliminates some of the financial stress of paying for her college education. She intends to put her scholarship money towards tuition, textbooks and other college necessities at Georgia State University. Denisse hopes earning this honor inspires her younger siblings and proves to them that hard work truly pays off. She will continue that hard work in college to chase her dream of becoming a dental hygienist.

Praise Holt

For this Riverwood International Charter School graduate, earning a scholarship fortifies her hope and confidence in her future. Praise plans to use her scholarship money to pay for college tuition costs at Georgia State University. She hopes to one day write a book about the hardships she has encountered throughout her life in order to encourage others to overcome their own.

Jennifer Tenorio

Jennifer has dreamed of attending college as long as she can remember, and now her dream is coming true. A graduate of Riverwood International Charter School, Jennifer is a first-generation college student and only the second in her family to attend college. She plans to use the scholarship to help pay for housing and textbook fees at the University of Georgia, where she aims to study biology. Her time as a Dawg will kickstart her path towards becoming a pediatrician.
