Sep 14, 2021 Major Milestones at IAA MOBILITY in Munich
The world’s largest mobility event took place in Munich, Germany from September 7-12, focusing on a transformation to climate-neutral mobility. More than 1,000 exhibitors and speakers presented innovations and concepts across the automobile, bicycle and technology sectors, including more than 100 world premieres.
Mercedes-Benz made an impression with its focus on building the world’s most desirable electric cars and defining a new era of mobility for the company. IAA MOBILITY 2021 marked a major milestone for the brand with the debut of all-electric production or near-production concept vehicles across every one of our brands and sub-brands, from Mercedes-Benz to AMG, Maybach and G.

Ola Källenius opened the Press Conference at the Mercedes-Benz pre-evening event prior to the show by introducing the all-new EQE. “It’s the younger brother of our amazing EQS. And you know: being the second-born comes with some great perks! This car features our MBUX Hyperscreen, automatic front doors, rear-axle steering and the latest in driver assistance – much of the great stuff known and loved from its sibling, the EQS.” Markus Schäfer debuted the highly anticipated Mercedes-AMG EQS: “It’s the first ambassador of the all-electric future of AMG Driving Performance, based on our highly acclaimed Mercedes-EQ platform.” Britta Seeger also premiered the Concept Mercedes-Maybach EQS, “the first all-electric Maybach in the brand’s long history.” With the premiere of the Concept EQG, Philipp Schiemer announced “we plan to bring the best of two worlds together: the strong character of the “G” and the progressive luxury of our EQ models.”
“These cars will be electric and sustainable in all dimensions, across all segments and brands. And they will deliver what you can expect from a true Mercedes.”
