Las Vegas Students Learn Importance of Pedestrian Safety from Customer Services Leadership Team

Following this month’s dealer meeting in Las Vegas, the MBUSA Customer Services Leadership team joined Safe Kids Worldwide at Doral Academy of Nevada to teach kindergarten students about the importance of passenger and pedestrian safety. Safe Kids Worldwide is a nonprofit organization working to help families and communities keep kids safe from preventable injuries which are the leading cause of death for children in the United States.

After listening to MBUSA volunteers read a “Clifford the Big Red Dog” book about safety and crossing the street, students were able to put words into action. All students practiced crossing a fake crosswalk, making eye contact with the driver, and giving a wave. Once they aced the test, each kid received a brand-new Clifford book and stuffed animal. Finally, every student was measured and gifted the appropriate size helmet.

“The event was great,” exclaimed Allison Setser, Customer Services Project Manager. “We only had a limited time, but it was excellent to get to learn about Safe Kids as an organization and their incredible mission. It is always inspirational to work with kids, and it was great to see their engagement with the books and witness them practicing what they know.”

A special thanks to our friends at Safe Kids Worldwide and members of the Customer Services Leadership General Manager team: Dianna du Preez, Lisa Rosenfeld, Nikki Kiefer, Turan Coratekin, Jay Schmid, David Tait, and Allison Setser.
