They See Us Rolling

On January 25 and 26, the MBUSA All-Manager’s Meeting took place and immediately incorporated a CSR component on day one. Working with the non-profit Together We Rise, the team built 80 skateboards for children and teens in the foster care system.

Comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth, Together We Rise (TWR) is a non-profit organization aiming to improve the lives of children in foster care, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. Through collaboration with individuals, companies and community partners, they bring resources to foster youth and use service-learning activities to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system.

TWR works with hundreds of foster agencies, social workers, CASA advocates and other partners to bring our programs to foster youth across the nation. The foundation has allowed us to provide thousands across the country with new bicycles, skateboards, college supplies and sweet cases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag.

Last month’s event was not only impactful, but a great deal of fun as well! Our MBUSA managers were paired into teams of two to build a skateboard for a child in need.
